Role Overview: uxridge is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Freelance Junior Brand Designer to play a key role in crafting compelling brand identities for a diverse range of businesses we service. This is an exciting opportunity for a budding designer to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of brand development, from initial concept to final execution. As a freelance member of our growing agency, you will work closely with the CEO and directly with clients to bring their brand visions to life. This role requires adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate directly with clients to understand their brand values, target audience, and business objectives.
- Develop comprehensive brand identities, including visual language, color palettes, typography, and imagery guidelines.
- Design compelling logos and brand marks that effectively represent client identities.
- Create brand guidelines and style guides (brand bibles) to ensure consistent brand application across all touchpoints.
- Design essential brand collateral such as business cards, email signatures, and letterheads.
- Develop website illustrations and visual elements that align with the overall brand identity.
- Design various marketing materials, both digital and print (e.g., social media graphics, brochures, presentations).
- Present design concepts and rationale to clients, incorporating feedback and iterating on designs as needed.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
- Stay up-to-date with current design trends and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Currently studying towards or has recently completed a degree/diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing foundational design principles, including logo design, typography, color theory, and layout.
- Portfolio should ideally include project breakdowns presented on Behance, a PDF, or a personal website.
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign are essential).
- Understanding of design principles for both digital and print applications.
- Excellent visual communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback effectively.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as a freelancer.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving startup environment. (Beneficial, but not crucial)
- Experience working with digital products.
