We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join one of our design teams and contribute to early-stage innovative products. The successful candidate will combine UX and UI capabilities to deliver value for businesses and customers.
This role requires foresight to produce sustainable outputs that can be tested, validated, and integrated into the daily lives of our Gradesmatch ecosystem users. You will assess the value of the designed experience and ensure a high level of craft within your work. You will have the chance to work across a broad range of projects that enable the business to scale, bring new products to market, and captivate customers through powerful digital experiences.

Design:
• Look and feel establishment
• Graphic user interface design
• Accessibility implementation and testing
• Micro-copy and UX writing
• Multi-device design and rollout
• Design system utilization and extension
• Micro-interactions and motion prototyping
Develop:
• Annotated design specifications
• Visual asset preparation
• Development implementation review
• Product experience testing
• Content quality assurance checks
Our minimum expectations
- 1-3 years of meaningful experience in UX/UI design
- You have a strong technical foundation, and you are an expert with modern product development tools and methodologies
- You know how to ship and iterate - you balance quality and speed while bringing new features and products to market
- A relevant degree/diploma will be beneficial
- You must be South African
Basic Knowledge of Front-End Technologies:
- HTML/CSS: Understanding of basic HTML and CSS to collaborate effectively with developers.
- TailWindCSS: Familiarity with TailwindCSS and incorporating it in the handover process
- Design Handoff: Experience with tools and processes for handing off designs to development, including an understanding of design specs and assets. Preferred design tools
