Marketing Assistant Communications
Founded in 1877, Durban Girls’ College is a leading independent girls’ school with a proud history and a strong Christian ethos that offers an innovative, forward looking and relevant education for girls from Grade 00 to Grade 12.
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Copywriting, design and proofreading of all marketing materials including but not limited to The College Chatter newsletter, The Galleon Yearbook, prospectus, invitations, powerpoint presentations, brochures, handbooks, posters, press releases, social media and advertisements.
- Creating social media content.
- Creating website content.
- Video live streaming of school events through Facebook.
- Photography and videography of all events.
- Briefing of photographers and videographers.
- Maintaining a photographic library.
- Providing support to the Marketing Manager including marketing strategies and research, marketing communication and public relation activities
Requirements:
- A well-presented, self-motivated individual interested in working in a highly competitive environment.
- A person with integrity and empathy for young people.
- A person who understands the Christian ethos of the school.
- Familiarity with local, national and international education markets and trends would be an advantage.
- A highly effective communicator.
- Strong writing skills with excellent grammar and spelling.
- An ability to manage multiple projects at a time and work under pressure.
- The capacity to work after hours to meet urgent deadlines and to post social media.
- Highly computer literate and an expert in internet and social media with a demonstrated track record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, InDesign/Canva and Google.
- Proficiency in posting content to Facebook & Instagram.
- Great attention to detail.
- A communication or design degree.
- One years’ experience in a similar position.
